Description “We shall swim out to that brooding reef in the sea and dive down through black abysses to Cyclopean and many-columned Y’ha-nthlei, and in that lair of the Deep Ones we shall dwell amidst wonder and glory forever.” ~ The Shadow Over Innsmouth, by H.P.Lovecraft

It reminds me of Eastern European vampires, with the hideous appearance, needle like incisors and the one nosehole.
It is a Deep One, of course, but i saw some similarities

There is cake and cookies in Y’ha-nthlei but if you are not a Deep one, do not pry.

Looks great.

Its skin looks so oily... but its suit is... well... clean looking. Dry. Custom tailored. Very interesting creature... I'm definitely going to the library this weekend and taking out some Lovecraft.

I find it absolutely appalling that this was passed over as a DD. Its about one of the select few portrayals of a Lovecraftian monster that actually manages to inspire genuine original terror with its sublime and unearthly vitality, something that truly rests and glides in the murk of the noxious unfathomable Styx within our consciousness.

H.P.Lovecraft, the influential horror author. You can find his stuff for free online due to it being written quite long ago. I recommend it.

i've read the shuttered door part way through and have been looking for the re-animator but i havent really been able to get my hands on the cthulu involved books. only because i was reluctant to get into something that might be occult.

Hi. Lovecraft's works are available online, or if you prefer or can afford the books themselves, you shouldn't have any trouble finding them online (eg Amazon) or in the horror or fantasy sections of normal bookstores.

You're certainly an enigma. Your user name is Cerberus; you listen to metal and have high regard for Cradle of Filth; your favourites gallery is filled with darkness and what most people would consider evil and wierdness; your texts (although I haven't read them) appear to be on the morbid side at least. I wouldn't worry about Lovecraft's work being 'occult', or even vaguely controversial by your standards, so please go ahead and enjoy it.

As an afterthought, you should never be afraid to try something and make up your own mind. I can only assume you got the impression that certain HPL books are on the wrong side of 'the occult' from another source, but judging by your recent journal entry, you're certainly ready to make up your own mind.

Good luck and all the best, I hope you enjoy the literature when you find it.

I noticed among your comments that you had mentioned you might do Yog-Sothoth, and that really tickled my fancy. I've seen only a few interpretations of that particular beastie that even suggested that the artist read the original stories - you seem to be one of those who would honor the text and still pull off a wicked rendering with your origial flair. If you do indeed have the time to pursue more Mythos beasties, be assured that you have at least one more rabid fan who will enjoy seeing them.
