Description A new character (yes, ANOTHER one!) for the Extrasolar universe created with ariel-x. This is Lt. Daniel Hayes, Communication Officer in the Venetian naval fleet. Can't say much more because not much is known. More to come...

I went bokeh crazy. Quite busy, I know, but it was a fun diversion.

Character is M4 with 'Freak' and ++ morphs, M4 bodysuit. Created and rendered in Poser 8. Everything else was done in Photoshop.

Bokeh brushes are from Obsidian Dawn. Check out their website here: [link] Great resource for some awesome brushes!

Many, many thanks for for his one-on-one Photoshop tutorials and holding my hand. Fun!

Hmm, I really didn't set an exact age for him yet, but probably in his early 30s -- let's just say he's 33. Β

I like his look. It is the eyes. A lot of stuff going on inside of his head. I can just see it by his eyes. That makes him a very interesting character and you did great bringing this at the forefront creating him. At least that is how I see him. Bravo!

Aw, thank you so much, my friend! Yes, there's more than meets the eye (so to speak!) in this fella. But more to come on him later. Still trying to flesh out so many characters and stories. But it's all so much fun!

Great looking character Ryan I keep wanting to push that blue spot like a button LOL! I like the colors you chose and the background looks wicked cool.

NOOOOO, NEVER PUSH THE BLUE SPOT! Funny you said that because I was thinking the same thing when I made it. LMAO! Maybe it's like the Staples "Easy Button", only this will be the "Render Button"! lol

Thank you so much, Vee! It was a fun diversion.

Looks as awesome as usual!

Thanks! And tell me about it! Geesh! They just keep coming out of the woodwork. I'm struggling to keep up with them all. Hopefully one day they'll all fall into place. I kind of joke to BjΓΆrn that we make these character images as kind of a casting call. Some are already known about prior to the image, but others we just make and hope to fill him/her with a role sooner or later as the stories evolve.

PeterRama In reply to jrmalone [2011-03-10 18:28:25 +0000 UTC]

Well, if you guys need help with the story let me know...
You have enough parts & pieces so far that you're looking more at a series instead of just a single novel...

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

jrmalone In reply to PeterRama [2011-03-12 11:33:27 +0000 UTC]

Thanks Pete! Yeah, we're kind of shooting for a series of inter-connected short stories, but a single novel isn't out of the question. We've been a bit delayed with the day jobs, plus we've changed some things in earlier renditions so we want to get everything right. Continuity...

LOL! Thanks so much Lance! I have give credit to Poser for the textures and how they rendered. I just hit the render button. lol And yeah, I've been wanting to do some kind of bokeh stuff for a while. I thought it kind of spruced up an otherwise dull character shot.

Ariel-X [2011-03-09 21:37:48 +0000 UTC]

Everything is just beautiful. He will be a perfect character. He has a nice and everyday look to him. Love the bokeh effect in the background and I love the Lost/Fringe floating text thing that you have going here. Great work with the textures, that leather material looks so real. Beautiful, beautiful , beautiful work.

Thank you so much my friend! I've learned so much from you, the master of all things Photoshop! And yeah, been wanting to do something Fringe-ish. The title was kind of an after-thought. Fun!

Awesome! I love this one! Your character rendered so perfectly! Love his skin textures. And the textures on his suit are amazing! Did you create the leather texture?? hehe, your too funny, Mr. B held your hand through the PS tut's. hehe There is nothing scary in there hun! It's the coolest place to hang out. la la la The bokeh effect looks awesome! I like the depth you gave it and your ES lettering is outstanding! I love how it's almost just floating along. hehe Wow, great work sweetie! Another cool character for your ES world! Yea!

Thanks! I finally upgraded to Poser 8 a couple of weeks back. lol I was having big problems with P7 and Vue 9, so it's nice to have everything working again. But I did this render in P8 - I love the way it renders. And no, that leather texture is just the default mat for the Bodysuit - not mine. Bjorn has shown me lots in the mat room, so one day I'll get my own stuff going. I do that already in Vue, just not comfie in Poser yet.

Your most welcome! It turned out so awesome! Cool, Poser 8 had it's moments in the beginning, but has become quite the powerful little app. Oh no, that's no fun when you have issues. I'm glad Poser 8 is working better for you. You will be creating textures in no time. It's so fun playing with all the cool nodes in the Material room. haha Mad Scientist at work....Muahaha You make excellent textures in Vue so I'm sure you will be up and running in Poser in no time. Weeeeee!
