Mine too! It's been almost 10 years since I first started picked up Wild Magic and it's still one of my all time favorite books.

I loved the old editions of the books. The current ones are all Photoshop-y and I think they're really missing something from the old painted covers. Unfortunately mine (I inherited the Immortals series from my sister) were too damaged from being read too often, and had to replace them. I wish I could have kept them, though.
I have Protector of the Small, as well, but they were misplaced at the time of the photo, and I own Terrier, but I never read the last two of the Beka Cooper series. I guess I just never got into her story like you never got into Circle of Magic.
I can totally relate to dancing in bookstores. I've been reading Tamora Pierce since I was a kid, but they're still some of my favorite books, and I geek out over them all the time.

haha yeah i do some regular geeking out over them; my friends were with me who have never read them (no matter how much i have pressured them to) and laughed at me as did the random man browsing as well XD lol
I really agree on the painted covers having more to them then the photoshopped images (especailly on the immortal series). If you look into it they have redone the covers to her first two series a ridiculous number of times.. it's just strange.
As for Beka Cooper series i could see why; it is kind of a different flavor then her other Tortall books.. the pacing is different a is the romance and general actionyness of the sseries.

Luckily for me a bunch of my friends are big fans of Tamora Pierce; it was actually one of them who introduced the Immortals series to me, which was the first one I read.
I was barely able to finish Beka's first book, and the only reason I made it was because I kept reminding myself that she was related to George. I don't want to say that it was boring, but you're right in that the pacing probably affected how into the story I got.

Have you gotten Bloodhound yet? Or Protector of the Small? Keladry is actually my favorite of the heroines because she seems most relate-able.

Technically, it's my sister who owns the Protector of the Small series, but yeah, I have read most of them. I don't know, compared to the other heroes, I guess Kel is easier to relate to, but that's not really why I read fantasy books. Everyone else seems more exciting to me because they're so different.
Unfortunately, I haven't gotten around to reading Bloodhound.

I read fantasy books because they whisk me away into another world where anything can happen. Where there's magic, fencing, and archery is where I'd love to be. My best friend and I have our own little Numair fan club, and we found our perfect vision of an actor who could play him well, Adrien Brody, he is our stork man.
My sister doesn't appear to have any opinion on books, she reads most of the same ones I do, but she just says it was good and makes no more comments. I can become completely obsessed with books, and Tammy's are my favorites, then there's Harry Potter.

When I am asked about a book I like I usually go crazy on the outside trying to tell them about it so they will read it too and then I'd have someone else to talk to about it.
A lot of people ask us why we like Adrien Brody because nobody else seems to think he is hot. But I have him set as my desktop and the picture is doing pretty well for him... Also people don;t like his large nose, but my friend, Kayleigh, and I both love him for it.

Kalacyn In reply to harrellgirl [2010-02-22 14:16:03 +0000 UTC]
The kids from the Circle of Magic are all grown up, and basically, Sandry's cousin the Empress of Namorn wants her to visit, so the Duke sends the rest of the Circle as guards. The Empress wants to keep Sandry as kind of a "jewel" for her court, so they have to pretty much fight their way out, but the problem is that they've spent so much time apart that they've forgotten how to work together. So yeah. It sounds much better than I'm describing it.
