Ahhh... just uploading for the sake of uploading, really. School has been consuming me lately, but I pushed around some time to do a little birthday present for my dear sweet *Tygburd ~
I'm also happy because I was able to do this within one day, which is nearly unheard of for me anymore 
Yes, it IS based off of [link] because depicted here is Celeste, who is sort of in an AU relationship with my Miichaiel (they are both blind!!) so I thought it would be appropriate to do a matching portrait of her. LAWLS YOU GUYS I'M SO CREATIVE
Anyway, yes, I liked being able to pull this off in a day's time instead of overworking it like I usually do. It may not be so "perfect" anatomically and such as other pieces of mine, but frankly I like how the flow and feeling came out with this too much to really care. More and more lately I'm just getting more into the feeling of a piece and not so much interested in technical skills... Personally, sometimes I just want people to RESPOND to the art instead of just focusing in on how correct my anatomy is. It makes me feel like I should just take up abstract painting.
Oh well... sorry to throw that out at you
Crits are welcome, of course, but maybe just keep other things in mind besides her wonky anatomy

That is a very beautiful pose on this character! Her hair is really pretty from the way how it was painted like that. The background is so awesome too from the way how you did the sky. ^_^

i absolutely love the bg! the blues and greens really complement her coppery complexion. the sparkly water is beautfiul and her expression of pure bliss was pulled off very well. i love how u did her hair

The water and the sky...everything is so cool in the picture. It wouldn't be a doubt in my mind that this is how she pictures the place she's in (I'm vaguely reminded of an old 70's movie were a teenage boy with Lionitis describes to a blind girl colors by using her sense of touch).
I always love it when you do pictures for the sake of doing pictures. Your works are always so detailed but when you just let your feelings flow onto paper, you get phenominal works like this. And I've watched you're artwork for a very long time

Thank you very much ;_; That was exactly what I am trying to get at. That really lifted my spirits.. I love doing work that I want to do the most, because I feel the most emotion for it, I suppose. And I agree about the technical thing. THere's plenty of pretty, detailed art out there, but how much of it can compell something in me? Sometimes being very well technically done can be moving in itself... but not the slick over-perfected stuff I see a lot of.

ooh, you made a counterpart for that beautiful picture @w@ I recognized it immediately from the background and her in the water and from Celeste being on the Pic, who I always associate with Miichaiel
The background here is... different. But that's understandable, I would've wanted to play around with the background too instead of making it the same (but knowing me, I WOULD have tried to make it look the same as in the pic before @_@). The colors GLOW so intensely and that cloudy pretty stuff there, as well as her serene expression makes it look more calming than the Miichaiel Pic. Which also was quite calm of course, but all the swirly stuff there made it look a bit more... I don't know how to describe it. It seems to me almost as if the skies in those two pics mirror their inner emotions. Celeste seems Serene, and Miichaiel... confused? Something like this xD;; *stupid at explaining stuff*
and nooooooo, not abstract please, I love your stuff the way it is xD

Yes, I love them together and I'm sort of obsessed with them in a very strange way. I just love their relationship, and I'm fascinated by how they would get along both being blind.
I love the emotions you read into this and the differences involved, I suppose the methods I used for each one do reflect their personalities very well

Being blind and can't see the beauty surrounding you... that's something I couldn't bear with. Of course, you miss the ugly part of the world too, but still, you miss everything else.
She seems to be enjoying the breeze and the lasty drops the wind carries to her face. That's right, you can't see, but there are other means, there's always another way to solve a problem, right? Hearing, smelling, feeling, all that comes in play...
Naah, sometimes I really feel blind of every sense, like I can't hear, see or feel, but the mouth keeps alive somehow, which only ends in trouble anyways.

I suppose why I considered doing more abstract is because I think people tend to get really caught up in the "prettyness" of what I do.. and seem to lose everything else I put into it. I think you are fantastic for reading things into it, though, some things I never thought of before! <3 You have always left me beautiful and fantastic comments, and I am always truly thankful for them.

This so works for her character. I love how she has a skirtish girlie thing on, but underneath are shorty-things on. So its not like shes to.. feminine to do things. I love that. i also am in love with her build. I am biast on the way I draw people, and they are all skin and bones. But you have given her lovely lovely curves. The background is sex and I love her hair. And the fact that you did this in one day is awesome. ... jealous like mad awesome.. but awesome none the less. Thank you again kitteh. I lurve it!!

Haha, I don't know why I insist on her wearing skirts so much, it's probably not much in her character. Thats why I gave her the shorts thing. My character Solais does the same thing, she wears girly flowy skirts but with shorty-things underneath. I figured it would work for Celeste too. And I can't seem to draw skinny people at all, they all need to be curvy and delicious xD; I don't know how you imagine her body type, though. I'm glad you like it, Tyg my darling, I was worried you wouldn't

You know what's really wonderful... that sky. Looking at it, the swirling colors and thickly blended strokes, brings so much peace of mind. Again with the whole inner-mind-imagery dealie-o that went on with this picture's lovely partner.
