Rannoch, the red stag from The Fire Bringer by David Clement-Davies. Before I painted this, I could never imagine how you could spend more than four hours on a single picture... This one took me about seven hours... even though with distractions.And yes, I realise his antlers aren't right for a red deer, but I didn't have the heart to draw bigger ones...
EDIT (31.05.2011): Four hours? Wow. O_O I was a wimp.
EDIT: (21.06.2014): This gets more hilarious every time I accidentally discover it.

You made Rannoch look adorable! Love the book too, since 10 years and I am still a big Clement-Davies fan! About the antlers.....well he looks still pretty young in this picture so it´s OK that they´re small!

Love it! It's an awesome book too. 7 hours? I would have lost my patience in the first hour. But I suppose such a work is worth it. Wonderful job!

My favourite is fire bringer. because of that book i know wot my english teacher wos on when she told us that some books can change the way people reflect on life. that book means soooo much to me and i raise my glass to the author!

Cool. If you liked that you should try and get your hands on 'The Seven Citadels' by Geraldine Harris. They're out of print now but defintely the best teenage books I've ever read.

На английском еще найти надо... А насчет переводов согласна! Я этим летом была в Англии и там как раз вышел 6 Гарри Поттер. Мне он понравился гораздо больше чем все предидущие переведенные!
