Description ~Fall is coming II~

I have been working hard on the last few days on creating a decent multi-use AS3 particle system for my gallery. I think I have perfected the particle movements to something more natural and controllable. On the right side you have controls to select different particles, and there are a couple of options for particle combinations.

You will notice this is a 100% dynamic system - not even I know where or how each of the leaves will fall - it's always unique. To make this small and fast to load, I made all the particles with vectors, at the cost of possibly more CPU usage. To compensate for that, I made this is a conservative system, where the number of particles on screen is always the same (you can count them!).

Once again, I composed new and original music just for this deviation. Background image is from the Among the Trees collection by Didi_mc. Particle system was created entirely in ActionScript3. Hope you like it and thanks for coming by!

Thank you! I am glad you've commented on the music - most people just take original music for granted. ^^

I am repeating things here because I want you to understand how strongly I feel about your work.

I have a learning disability and I do not write much because it is so hard and time consuming.

You seem to be a very good story teller. This is something I value greatly in a photographer, illustrator or artist.

You use color well and you seem to speak for/ with your subjects in you work.

In a lot of your work you layer up tectures and color. It is a subtle but strong thing through out.

This is mind blowing and I love for both the overt slap in the face and the underlying subtly.

Wow thanks for the thoughtful comment - it's so hard to get meaningful feedback these days. ^_______^

So you have a learning disability? As I get older, that is more the way I feel because it becomes harder to learn new things. Takes me longer than 10 years ago.

Thanks! I had to rewrite the particle system to allow using anything as a particle. This was the 1st test with the new code and I wanted to emphasize on using different particles with same code. ^^

You mean the letter "A"? The button was not big enough for me to write "ALL" in it. So what would you like to see falling there? Now I am interested! ^^

Hell I dunno, just some kind of random crap that doesn't normally fall from trees.

I am happy to brag that my current particle system accepts ANYTHING, be it vector or bitmap images. The only thing is that Flash will have performance issues with larger images used as particles here because it has no hardware accelerated graphics. It actually claims to have it with the new Flash CS4, but in my tests that does not seem to make much a difference, and it still requires people to have hardware accelerated video cards installed - which in my last poll revealed that less than half the people here has any.

Well less than half the people that replied in that poll have that.

I noticed most modern laptops have the "function" button combinations for that. I find them especially hard to find on reduced laptop keyboards because they use blue over black to mark the keys and that is only readable with a lot of lights around.
