Description My skin tone is uneven.
I have pores.
And blemishes.
And pimples.
And blackheads.
My left eyebrow is slightly higher than my right.
The folds of skin over my eyes are fat.
My hairline is uneven.
My lips have pieces of dead dry skin I chew off and leave bloody.
My nostrils are too wide.
My eyebrows are too thick.
There are bags under my eyes.
They cut apart my cheeks.
I have chicken-pox scars.
My hair is dry and fly-away.
My hair is rarely parted neatly.
My nose is not entirely straight.
My cheeks are not hollow.
My cheekbones are well hidden amongst fat.
I have jowls.
The whites of my eyes are not entirely white.
I have hair on my upper lip.
There is hair between my eyebrows.
I am pale, but not enough to be 'striking'.
My eyes are not 'engaging'.
My eyelashes are not ordered.
My lips are not soft.
I have dry skin.
I have oily skin.
I have dead skin.
I have nostril hair.
My nose is too round.
My nose is too big.
But not big enough to give 'character'.
My chin is uneven.
My teeth, though you can't see them, are crooked and uneven and alternate between plaque-white and popcorn yellow.
There is a chunk of molar missing from my back teeth.
My eyes are muddy coloured.
There are faint lines already developing around my eyes.
There is a wrinkle underneath each eye.

And no matter how hard I try, I am still so far from perfect.

I would kill (ok, maaaybe not) to look like you do.

But then again, perfection is boring, so your "imperfect" face is, to me, one of the prettiest faces I've seen. C:

Alas imperfection is the most perfect flaw of all.

This is really interesting... the final result looks like a beautiful painting, but it's not real enough.
And I must say.. I've always think about you as a beautiful person... your face has an impact to de viewer, you can not be forget. The shape and proportions of your factions are the standard of perfect to my taste, and I like specially the shape of your eyes.

Don't analize too much those little details on your face... trust me, if you haven't mention them nobody would ever have noticed. Those details doesn't matter, at first sight you are pretty.

It's pleasant to see a photo about yourself edited like that, you think "hey that's still me" (well i don't know about your opinion on that but most of the people think like that)

Well, I insist: it's a really interesting work, and the artist's comment is perfect, so sad.

i think the 3 one up from the bottom looks best which i think in truth is more down to better lighting than anything else. far more human and character and less flat far more pretty in my opinion. the step by step is certainly very interesting and very well done

plus i prefer you hazel eyes i like brown

but the whole idea was to strip away all of the imperfections - look how imperfect #3 up is. And I think it looks flatter than the final result

But this picture tends to change a lot on different monitors.

I went for blue eyes like barbie.

thank you by the way

I'm pretty sure my long list of imperfections has proven to everybody that most of my 'flaws' exist inside my head. I know that. In fact, I think they exist in my head in a literal way; I think my issues are with myself, inside rather than outside. It's easier to focus that self-loathing on something tangible, so I'm 'ugly'.

I know that it isn't really about how I look.

i did a piece at uni, wrote on my whole body what i thought about each part. Many people didnt/dont understand I guess we are not so alone in self-loathing. Its funny in a way, in the times i appreciate my physic for all it is it makes me wonder if i would have achieved all i have if i didnt hate how i looked as much as i do.

Either way i think its an incredibly muture and beautiful piece

most of the comments I got on it at uni were about how "pretty" the final result was. One of my teachers was like "I wish I could do that to my photos at home". The whole point was that we shouldn't feel that way, that there's no need to be perfect, that the end result is barely even human.

So I guess I didn't get my point across very clearly.

I do believe that self-loathing makes us work harder though. Think Napoleon

exactly?! some people have no idea
personally its a personal feeling of mine so i could see what you portrayed and i think you did it perfectly. i guess some people just dont think in the same way we do

i wouldnt put yourself down so quickly, people will always interpret things in different ways. and i guess the fact she wished she could do the same shows she wishes she looked different just that she didnt grasp the point as directly

maybe take photos that are already 'retty' or 'erfect' and make them human as an aditional peiece?

i think you could be right

I think my problems aren't really about how I look, but how I feel about myself. Feeling ugly is just easier than dealing with the more personal things I dislike about myself.

And of course, images of people are now so far divorced from reality, I'm never going to feel pretty without at least two hours worth of photoshop work.

thank you. It's nice you think I'm pretty
