Description
A Coyote checks his surroundings in the fresh snowfall at Chatfield State Park, Colorado. I simply love these often misunderstood animals. Such an icon of the American west and it is always a joy to watch them hunt.---John.

Thanks. Looks are deceiving. He had a severely injured back right leg. No idea what from and from talking with other photographers he has had that injury for a couple years now.

Well, the coyotes I see are always thin, so this one seems to be doing ok for himself despite his leg injury.
