Background: Hailing from the icy world of Andoria; Q'uira Sha'ano serves as an Engineering Captain in Starfleet Command, San Francisco, alongside her colleague and superior Officer, Fleet Admiral Cartwright. Though she can be a little cranky at times, she's often patient and jovial when she wants to be. In 2286, Earth's systems and ocean were being disrupted by an orbiting Probe, and it was her job to at-least try and help keep things up and running. That was until that "space jockey" James T. Kirk solved the problem with a pair of 20th Century whales, thus saving the day, and helping to make Q'uira's day much less stressful in the end. In 2293, a 51 year old Q'uira was attending a conference in Camp Khitomer, between the Federation and the Klingons - where an assassination of the Federation President was prevented by Kirk, and Sha'ano's colleague Admiral Cartwright was revealed to be part of a conspiracy against both sides. Needless to say, she was disappointed... but cheered up when the Khitomer Accords began, thus ensuring peace between Federation and Klingon alike, which she herself gladly signed. She also oversaw the completion of the new Enterprise NCC-1701-B later that year, which she sent off on her maiden voyage. And, much like Colonel Worf, Q'uira would also gain a grandchild, whom herself would serve as an Engineer aboard the Enterprise-D in 2364, while the eldest granddaughter would leave and join the Maquis in 2370, sadly...
