Guess who's baack?
After nearly another month of disappearing I have come back to present you all with a project I'd been working on for hours on end, trying to meet my goal so I was able to show it at a decent time. This is definitely something I've been anxious to set my mind to, as school and other work has intervened, allowing little to NO time for me to complete anything I want to complete.
This took me so long to complete and its results came out as clean as I had anticipated. Though I was unable to execute the background the way I wanted to, the manner in which I completed the creature was enough success for me.
This, in traditional Mexican culture, is meant to be an Alebrije. In short terms, an Alebrije represents ones spirit guide when their souls have left to carry on in the afterlife. In traditional folklore, these come in the forms of colourful forms, some consisting of basic counterparts and others compiling of a fusion of different animals.
For this painting, my goal was to add as many of these symbols into the painting, even if it may have taken a while. And it did.. a long time. A fusion between a candy piñata, a deer, a rabbit, a mouse, and a dragon. Its back is stitched with different patterns, potentially meaning this may have belonged to the spirit of a younger child whose creativity was beyond their limits.
This isn't any gift, though..

As I begin to pack my bags to move on from the high-school environment, I have to say my farewells to many of the teachers that helped me so dearly along this crazy journey. My Spanish teacher is a blessing, one I feel so fortunate to have met and glad I was able to share class with. She taught me so much, both in my decision-making and maintaining my skills as a bilingual speaker. She gave me advice I never thought I'd take, and she was there by my side to provide me with what I needed to press on in life after school. I am so thankful to have had her, and while I may not ever get to see her in person again, I pray I am able to keep in touch with her. Thank you for all that you have done for me. You will be in my heart, mí corazón, por siempre.

It is such a blessing to meet such incredible people carrying so much potential. I hope wherever I end up I find the same, for those who've helped me and who have stuck by my side mean so much to me.
This painting took me a very, very long time to make. I hope each and every single one of you enjoys it and is able to pull some joy out of it. Summer's right around the corner, have any plans?
Thank you to those who have been here to support me, through all of my ups and downs. I owe you more than you can know.
Projects are soon to come, look out for it. I'll be more active soon, I hope some of you may too.
Until then...
See y'all in the next post.~
