The 6 Hour Banshee is now the '6 Hours and Most of Thursday Banshee'. She is wonderful and fills me with glee, I can't even tell you how pleased with this I am right now.This picture has a lot of source material. My mother lent me 'Geisha, A Life' by Mineko Iwasaki over Spring Break, which got the kimono juices flowing. She also made fun of my love for wearing dresses and boots.
While researching geiko, I found a picture of a maiko on Wikipedia wearing a rubber duck in her hair.
~Crow-Sensei is about the same build as Banshee, so she put on a bathrobe, some weird socks and some boots for me and we took pictures to get Banshee right.
The mask is leftovers from seeing Cirque Du Soleil. Even their GIFT SHOP is amazing. I own her socks, and her blue beaded bracelet. Crow owns her shoes.
The rest of her accessories are on the fly sorts of things, and some things may make more sense to people on the Banshee LJ crew, but nothing is lost if you aren't.
Banshee, who doesn't want you to know that her real name is Stephanie, is mine.
Primarily Prismacolor Markers and watercolor, but also making an appearance is some paint that I can't spell, ink in gold, black and silver, and colored pencil.

That's some really nice prismacolor coloring. I find it tremendously difficult to get that consistent with prisma markers. I also really like the central composition, mainly because of the negative space. Not really the negative space actually, so much as the way that umbrella juts out. I also love the boots and the ducky.

I like how textural some of the stuff in here looks. Especially her scalp, what did you do there? It looks like pencil over the markers or something like that? Her tights too, they actually look like the fabric which is wow-ing me a lot
Man I love the hairstyle Banshee has here, so so so much. I'm also very amused by the duck (I went and scoped out that picture after I read the description) and the umbrella.

Her scalp is base marker, several more layers of darker marker, watercolor in stippled bits in increasing dark and then a light pass with pencil to pick up the texture of the watercolor paper.

The anatomy is spot-on, her expression is great, and the whole thing is just altogether awesome. Also, her boots came out really well in colour.
