you ruined it! I was 7 days short of a year without comments on this one!!!
misanthropist? ha the poem was intended to be a bit more political than you interpreted, but I really do like it lol, no one has ever bothered to respond thoroughly to this poem, even in when I submitted it in classes people avoided the speaker and poem itself and for some odd reason argued for 10 minutes about weather the cussing within the poem and single-word lines actually worked.
and no, I'm not going to be like every other damn poet on DA and try to say "you're wrong here is what it's meant to mean" (and I know people do this cause I comment on a lot of poetry often trying to interpret it) the point of poetry is not for the author to tell you what it means!

Oh sorry to trouble the tranquility of this page XD and moreover to say non sense!
This poem is indeed very political, especially with the last three stanzas. I thought more at the tone at the poem than the meaning.
But after a second reading, I think my original statement is entirely wrong.
I wrote as I read your text, too fast. I missed one word, that I replaced by another (A being “we” call Darkness) and it changes everything. Besides I focused mainly on the first verse to interpret.
So,in my opinion, the speaker is not misanthropist at all, he’s full of contempt. His vision of humanity is perhaps not extremely positive but he takes its defense against those who criticize it.
He stands against hypocrites and this poem is like an answer to them, which sounds like "Hey, who do you think you are? You’re not better than us”.
The God, or the superior thing who watches humanity doesn't understand the complexity of the human race.
Humans are bad considered, but for the speaker, destruction in the name of Religion as “the right thing to do” is hypocrisy itself. The religious motive to cause harm, to create wars is fake. It's purely ideological.
I think my interpretation is simplistic but is better than the first one.
