Description Second in my tea-personification series! (First was Paris Black Tea .

This is Dragon Jasmine Pearl! Most websites say the green tea leaves are from Fujian, China, so I was inspired by images of floating Chinese fairies. Then I took it a step further and made her a dragon maiden, as the dragons of Asian mythology are known for shapeshifting into human forms. The tea leaves are infused with jasmine, the white blossoms seen here, which give the tea a floral fragrance and sweet flavor.

Dragon Pearl Jasmine or Jasmine Dragon Pearl or Dragon Jasmine Pearl--whatever you call it--was the first "special" tea that captivated me. I loved jasmine tea before, but these pearls have a sweet, light aroma I found especially lovely and soothing. I hoped to catch the same feelings here, but...

Phew! This took me ages! The hardest part was her steam tail, then deciding to blend it with the white border circle. I'm not totally happy with the layout--I find a floating teapot unsettling, but then again she is floating, too. I also wish I had the patience/ability to draw flowing fabrics better to make her costume richer. Ah, well, the things you learn.
