My 20th tea!! Unfortunately, my tea series will be ending after just a couple more...but we'll worry about that later.

This one was a doozy--I had the idea floating in my head for a long time after I read here that the use of chamomile as an herbal tea started in ancient Egypt. But actually drawing this took a long time because (1) I forgot about it!! and (2) when I remembered it, I had a hard time actually figuring out the composition. Look here!

But when I figured it out, it still took a while to draw this--maybe 4 hours?? On top of that, I've been busy with real life stuff. But here we are! The girl is wearing a traditional Egyptian dress called a kalasiri, with reference from the statue of a woman in a late new kingdom pleated kalasiri on the left . The crocodile--NOT a gator--is referenced directly from this image .

Why the green apples? People say chamomile tastes like green apples! I don't think so, though. I had it and it was just very cloyingly sweet, with a very distinct floral taste. It wasn't my favorite herbal tea.
