Nice compositional balance in this, Linda, with the koi on the right, the lilies at the bottom and the dark water to the left framing the girl's head, which has been placed on "thirds", and in its colouring is quite startling. This seems quite a compelling image , but I'm not sure why.

Thanks David,...and to think I almost gave up on this one. lol    "Compelling image", yes, I agree.  I'm not sure why myself, but I think it has to do with the colors/contrast.   When I had it without the green frame, it wasn't to me so 'striking' at all.

I hadn't considered the frame itself, Linda, but you are correct in that the frame is the "edge" of the pond I suppose. So, everything has its place within that.
