Something you might like to know. Gorosaurus wasn't ment to be the monster attacking paris, the say during the news flash that Baragon was attacking Paris. Thought you'd like to know.

Interesting. Wonder why they changed their mind on that in the film and had Gorosaurus bursting through the ground in from of the Arc? Makes you wonder if the dubbing was wrong, or they needed to create another scene with Gorosaurus?

The reason was because Baragon was supposed to burrow through Paris, but the Baragon suit was not yet fully repaired (and was limited to a brief appearance), so Gorosaurus was used at the last minute.

Hey bro, real nice ink work! Hey I am assembling a team of artists to work on a remake of a short film I created. I think it would be great to have your skills contributed! All participants will receive due credit! Check out my recent journal post for details!
Here's a link to the film!

Actually, Gorosaurus first appeared in KING KONG ESCAPES (Rankin-Bass/Toho; 1967), in a scene that emulated the Kong Vs. T-Rex sequence of the 1933 film, but he appeared in DAM the next year.
Hope this helps!

Well, granted.
The Japanese, as well as the British and others, have always had imagination, especially when it came to practical SPFX. In the case of Japan's "tokusatsu" (their term for special effects), I think the best came from Toho, Tsuburaya, and even Daiei. In the SPFX world, Toei is known mostly for their TV superhero work, but the work they produce is not half-bad, even their movie stuff!
Even Eiji Tsuburaya, and the FX artists that follow his example, have compared SPFX to their childhood dreams and imagination. And that's one of the greatest charms of special effects, indeed.
