Description
This is the third cover commission I've illustrated for Bill Cox, featuring the original "Taskforce X" SUICIDE SQUAD! I really had fun on this one because the Squad is pitted agains THE BEAST FROM 20,000 FATHOMS! Karin Grace sports a Bazooka and Rick Flagg is packing an M2 Flamethrower! Jesse Bright is riding into action on a Hiller Flying Platform, and Dr. Hugh Evans glides in style with a Bell Rocket Belt! The Hiller Flying Platform and Bell Rocket Belt are a tip of the hat to the previous two SUICIDE SQUAD commissions that I did for Bill. A little continuity never hurts.This was pencilled on bristol board and was primarily inked with SuperBlack India ink and a Raphael Kolinsky Red Sable brush.

This is great!It truly represents the tone and gadgetry used in these early Suicide Squad appearances.This is amazing in its recreation of the early Silver Age when fighting dinosaurs and monsters was still cool

Haha, this seems like an old comic book mashup with newer cartoons. It is an interesting style. I like all of the detail in the man's battle gear.

i love the beast from 20,000 fathoms. One of my favorite old school monster sci-fi movies. Is so awesome if it even is in black and white.
