The universe is an infinitely beautiful entity. It’s impossible to capture all its true beauty as a whole, but rather in pieces; pieces that tell the story of the cosmos.

Well this piece is called Genesis. I’ve been meaning [for months] to create a large scale piece that dwarfed all my other pieces in dimensions/size. The Photoshop file for the piece is an astounding 122 megabytes. I wanted this piece to have more than one celestial event occurring at one time. I started this piece knowing I wanted a nebula (at the top) which led me to insert an exploding planet because it flowed with the colour. I decided next to add the planet with tri-lights with the overall bluish hue as a change of pace. The only regret I have is not being able to use a terrain stock for this piece, maybe when I come back to the piece I may.

As a few ending notes I have to say that this was a big challenge for me and I feel more confident after completing this piece which at the end of the day really was worth the long nights and sore eyes and hands. Also, the most fulfilling part of this piece is that it turned out better than I hoped due to my initial fears that the organization of layers would be madness (thank goodness for the folders [8 of them total with many layers still placed freely]). The odd thing is that I’m now considering taking this piece to the large computer lab and flexography wing of my school to have it printed as a high quality poster, but I should first find out costs as it isn’t cheap to use it (I’ve printed a poster before).
