nebulae is teh sex no doubt... just the depth is what we have to work with... right now its kinda flat... like my ex's tits
try throwing some lens flares in there, on the super bright spots... this will make it look softer, cause right now its too over contrasted i think (or if you dont like those, soft light-yellow brush, or even white maybe if it dosent make it look grey.)i would also try getting those stars to "glow" what did you use for them? noise? right now they look like little styrafoam balls, and those are annoying when they get on your shaggy carpet!!! haha but yeh... all i think you need to do for the starfield is take more time on it, have you read ladyrapids tut? that shit is genious, either his or greg martins are your best bet.
next, id get rid of that shaddow... just dosent fit.. makes the nebula seem like a flat 1 dimensional plane... and i think there is much needed light to be brought upon the planet... use a soft white brush and brush it on there, or even the dodge tool will work... first brush with "midtones" then brush with "highlights"
you got the idea of how these nebs work though... just practice more.. with lighting, make some spots really dark with the clustery dark fractals... and your depth should improve... note me if you need anything else, id be glad to show you an example of how i myself would improve this piece
hope that helps mayn!

hmmm.... good point.
BUT, what if they had flam proof transparent suits, along with Chuck Norris.
For we all know, fire doesn't burn Chuck Norris, Chuck Norris burns fire.

It seems kinda strange to me that the planet throws a shadow on what appears to be a plasma nebula.
That aside, kick ass!

Magic, ummm well I use apo fractals and a few other things to work with them. Ummm, best place to get a basic idea is to look at this tut. [link]
That should help you a bit. If you don't have Apophysis, you can download it for free from the internet, just try googling Apophysis.

ok, the first point:
-no depth. try to do your nebulae a bit like in that piece: [link] that means with dark clouds and more contrast.
-the colour sheme is not very interesting
-the planet looks totally crappy. why does the planet have a drop shadow?
-i dont like the lensflares very much

ahaha thx for the tips man, but Synax beat you to the punch for all those errors. It's all a learning process, hopefully I can apply what synax told me and fix errors I knew I made, thx man
