Here's another Kim Possible drawing, this time with Rufus! I would've used her newer costume but my PC's network card is burnt so I couldn't conveniently download a reference pic. Hopes ya likes it!Related content

Yessum! They are now considered a canon pairing. 
If you haven't seen it, Youtube should have it. It is an hour-long (or roughly an hour) episode.
But the REAL DS-iness does not appear till part two of the special. 
So after the Graduation episode aired, Steve Loter (the director) announced Drakken and Shego as a canon pairing online. Thus my signiture and my insisant DS fandom!

the no-line art look is so 3-dimensional... very eye catching. I love the colours, and the gradients you've chosen.

Thank you. Creating the no-line look is a lot harder for me than just coloring line art, but it's usually very worthwhile. But now as soon as I understand your avatar you go and change it to something else. No fair! Anyway it's a fun one.

Thanks! The selective highlighting on a specific part of the face or body is something that struck me from a Goya painting, and it's something I've been meaning to experiment with more often. This seemed like a good piece to use it on. Everything else is my usual experimentation with gradient and tonal layering.

I like the old costume just fine too, although the new one is pretty neat. I can't remember if they kept the bare midriff on it, which is the single most important part of the design in my book.
When I was coloring the highlighted part of her normally black shirt, I had in mind the tonal grays they gave to Batman's costume in the last season of Batman: TAS. It still looked gray, but ranged from vivid cool blue gray to stark warm brown-gray, which I thought was cool and added a lot of character to it.

As for the "black tones", I think you did an amazing job of not actually using black. It's interesting to hear your ispirations for this piece...it's very inspiring for someone like me who just sucks at colouring!

Actually I had one reference pic still on my harddrive from the last time I drew KP, and it was sufficient for this one. I could only see one side of her, so I'm not sure if the big poochy side pocket is only on one side or both sides of her pants.

I love the fact that I never know exactly what to expect from you man. You can do so many different styles, but I still know it's your work. This looks really good -- the curve of the lines, the graphic shapes. The end of that rope looks a little shaky, but everything else is rockin'.

Yeah, how exactly do you terminate a rope properly? Hell if I know. But thanks for the comps. I pretty much stuck close to the regular design this time around with only a little variation.

I like the vector-ish look, it fits well with the kind of shading I like to do, but I'm crap at vector programs. I just fake it all in Photoshop. And thanks! Rufus turned out a lot better than I ever thought a drawing of Rufus by me would turn out.

Maybe so. I'm pretty happy with this last KP though, so I might not be tempted to try another one. I tend to pound out drawings of characters until I hit upon one that really works for me, like with those three Starfires I did. The last one was pretty decent so I don't think I ever need to make another one.
