If Kiba's a dog, and Kankuro's a cat, why aren't they trying to kill each other or something?

I know that cats and dogs don´t like each other, but in this case it is espeachially!!!!
Kankuro has saved Kibas ass before, and later Kiba has saved (with aid from Couji) Kankuros ass...so I want to make then friends.
