Β Β It's a Medieval-esque Fantasy world, there are no Police...and definitely no phones
There's probably also not a lot of laws concerning wild animals and pets but these critters are more likely bound for menageries and private collections and would command incredibly high prices, travel is not easy in Meridia and these things are all from the furthest corners of the Known World and beyond.
You could take your complaint to the local Lord or the City Watch but as long as this Merchant isn't disturbing the peace and is paid up on his taxes you're outta luck

Don't fret, I'm sure they will be treated relatively well based solely on how damned expensive they would be. The buyer might even be looking for a mate to go with a previous purchase, who knows.
