I figured I'd add SOMETHING from this year at school. This project was to portray one of the elements from the periodic table of elements. Naturally I chose carbon. What is my obsession with carbon??Now, we had total control of content but had to do SOME research to back up our paintings. I had the idea in my head originally and these facts backed it up:
Skull - life/death? Carbon makes up everything, but then there's that whole carbon pollution and greenhouse gasses and such.
Gas mask - Carbon filters
Girl is lightly colored, representing diamonds
Guy is dark, representing charcoal
The whole ying/yang aspect of carbon intrigued me. I love contrasty images.
The background is blue for aesthetic reasons!
I can't remember the size... 24X36 mill board?

ah man this is orgasmically amazing. i mean, besides the fact that i just plain down right like it, i love that you put thought into the carbon business. and the colors look fantastic, the shading is something to be appreciated, and the anatomy is absolutely up to and over par! if you were selling this peice, and I wasn't broke, i'd buy it.
