This is #77- "Test" for my 100-Theme Challenge: [link]"You have at last mastered all of the Hidden Skills. Although I accepted life as the hero, I could not convey the lessons of that life to those who came after. At last, I have eased my regrets. You who have marched through countless foes, each mightier than the last... You, who now gaze to the future with vision unclouded... Surely you can restore Hyrule to its stature of yore as the chosen land of the gods... Farewell!... Go and do not falter, my child!"

Anyone know about the Hero's Shade theory from LOZ: Twilight Princess? They say that the hero's shade (the dude on armor) may be the Link from the OoT-MM generation. And although as usual Zelda-theories are widely debatable, it does make some sense. Especially with my theory of Young Link being the true hero that possibly vanished from time at a point.
Since he is no longer part of this world, I colored him so he looked more like a spirit or even a ghost being nearby his Shade-body. But he smiles at his descendant who has successfully been passed down the hero's swordsmanship and completed his test of worth.
Young Link is supposed to also be the Hero's Shade here, so that's why he's so close to him. But I wasn't able to correctly fade him into the Shade, so that was the best I could do for now. ( ` ~`);

Well this is no longer a theory, Hyrule Historia already confirmed the Hero's Shade is indeed the spirit of the Hero of Time!
Acording to that damnable book, Link always regreted:
1) He never passed his knowledge of the art of the sword
2) He could not be remembered as a hero (quite a dumb reason, since Renado talks about a hero who saved Hyrule, and the Gorons protected his bow, stating it used to belong to an "ancient Hero")
The Hero's Shade is supposed to be the spiritual manifestation of the regrets of the Hero of Time...
This looks like the time Link met the Hero's Shade for the first time. Link tries to attack and the Hero's Shade knock him down quite easily, before telling you his famous speech about courage.
The simplest explanation for having red eyes could be becaus the Hero's Shade resemble an Stalfos, and Stalfos have red eyes.
And no... OoT/MM Link has no relation with TP Link, acording to Aounuma (and what the director says, goes). Some people think just because Link is a ranch hand, he has to be a descendant of Malon, and acording to Aounuma your ancestor doesn't need to be a ranch hand for you to be one. The only thing those two share is: the soul, or spirit.

The Shade has red eyes and that Link may be the Shade, so I made his eyes red along with his right eye not being noticable.

If OoT/MM Link is indeed the Hero's Shade, which I DO believe, then Link finally gets dialogue! I never thought I'd see the day... Anyway, according to some LoZ fans, the Hero Shade's sword looks like Link's Guilded sword in MM. I have to go see it for myself.

I checked it before, there actually isn't much of a comparison as the people pointed out. Other than that, there is still a bit of evidence here-n-there that gives the idea that the Shade is possible OoT/MM Link.

I find the way ya intepreted this quite moody, but also heartwarming.
I was quite sure of that back when clearing TP, that this was the soul of Link from the OOT/MM-gen: it's very amazing again how each generation's being looked after. (-ivi-)
Not to mention I started to warm up a bit on TP-Link since I found him quite serious-looking compared to his earlier selves.

Mm, I was listening to tons of Zelda-remixes while working on this and I got a lot of sad feelings in my heart when drawing Young Link's expression.
He seems proud of his descendant for finally becoming the hero he once was, but also kind of sad to see that he must move on. ( , ^,);

Mm, that must be nice, yes... The previous Link finally managed to see his descendant face to face, and watch him grow up into a full-fledged hero. I'm sure that might've been what he wanted to do before passing on.

i never heard of the hero's shade theory (although i haven't really heard about a lot of the LOZ theories) but your picture is how i imagine it would happen in the game (if it were true/cannon?)

The theory sews in some strange parts that went missing between MM - present generations.
Oh, well, I use common ball-point pens for them.
They're easy to get, and less messy compared to fancy-shmancy art pens or something.
They're quite handy.

Oh yes, the split timeline. Whenever my friends and I discuss it, the conversation lasts forever. Wind Waker and its sequels on one side and-Auuugh.
I'm not so hot with outlining with pen. I get all "Don't mess it up" then all the lines are wobbly.
