I understand it was--I only sampled the materials to make sure they were good before I made it. Yes, everything was edible (except the Rollo wrappers) and the majority was homemade materials.

It's amazing how easy it is to do if you sculpt (which I do). Practice sculpting with regular Sculpey (which had a similar handling to candy clay). When you do the forming with the Rice Crispy treats, do it warm with wax paper (otherwise you will have hands covered in the stuff--as I learned!)

Okay c: I've heard about the Sculpy clay, what can you use it for?

The Sculpey is for practice (because trying to eat that stuff would be a REALLY bad idea) with a material of similar consistency and handling to the Candy Clay. This will allow you to master the skills before you go to the main event.

I was actually fought over by three classes of first graders (the person who bought it at the auction donated it) and I have heard they all enjoyed it a great deal (after they got over fighting to see who got the head and who got the butt!).

Very cool! Β How did you color it? Β

We got red candies from the store for the red base and white candies for the eyes and other portions. I touched up the dark areas with Wilton food dye and a small synthetic brush. One of these days I want to try the food grade airbrush approach--it may make all of that much easier. I'm glad you liked it!

The airbrush would be cool, but the candies worked out great! Β Thanks for taking the time to answer. Β :-D
