This baby is what I have been working on in my little free time now that school started up this last week. Had a cake meltdown at one point, but made a recovery and this is the end result.
I got commissioned to make a cake that featured a dragon with a stack of books with a pencil in his mouth. The book series this was loosely based off of is called The last dragon chronicles by Chris D. Lacey. Did some research, but short of not reading the books, I just did what I thought would look best.
French vanilla cake with strawberry filling. Fondant dragon sculpted over a tape and wire armature and a wooden support. Also featuring some hand painted sugar paper for the book spines and pre-designed sugar paper for the book mark. Hrrrr was requested by the commissioner as dragons tongue for Happy Birthday.
