What a synchronicity! I was trying to take a photo of a BLUE swatch of pine tree bark today, but my camera wouldn't focus on it. I ended up taking a different picture (which I think I will post later).

This photo immediately makes me think of a distressed Japanese flag (but probably because I am Korean). On closer inspection, I see/feel demons in there. It's very disconcerting, and it feels like I am looking at a picture of a medieval cathedral with images of gargoyles, the devil, saints, and Christ.

In English, the title has some word play: bark = barque
If I were on a barque, sailing, the red point would be the setting or rising sun. In this case, it feels like an ominous setting sun. (Sort of opposite of the nice image of Tolkein's Elves sailing into the West.)

Thank you for your insightfull comments. I have a lot of shots in my disk and sometimes, I type a random 4 digit to see what come across.
And I was stunned by the boldness of this forgotten image. I feel very related to your artistic universe -may be synchronicity-. For some reason I dont know at all, feel like some part of my soul is japanese. But I never been in Japan or dont even know much more than average about it...I agree this red is dangerous, so saturated ! I never use very much saturated colors but it was just there : meaning, I guess, the death of the tree to be cut soon. Blue points in France are for horse tracks .
