Description
My first complete sketch of Bilbo Bagins, as part of my Middle-Earth illustrations, including The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings. I tried to not make him look like the Martin Freeman character from the live-action film trilogy, but I think I failed there. I sort of gave it a Disney/Chuck Jones mix inadvertantly.Related content

Thanks. I tired to make him closer to how Tolkien originally described hobbits:Β
"I picture a fairly human figure, not a kind of 'fairy' rabbit as some of my British reviewers seem to fancy: fattish in the stomach, shortish in the leg. A round, jovial face; ears only slightly pointed and 'elvish'; hair short and curling (brown). The feet from the ankles down, covered with brown hairy fur. Thanks. I may have to re-work this one in the future by giving him a more rounded frame, and maybe redo the hair.
