none of it is really in all that great of focus. i think the shot has some definate potential. i like the concept...i just think with your talent..once you practice this angle a little more..it could be a much better shot. rt now though..it's nothin' that really strikes me.

i like the vertical slant going to the hard horizontal pattern - the change in direction balances the image in this tight crop

I know nothing of photography, but I would say between indifferent/good, leaning very much towards the latter. These are personal biases only, of course.

The lines are kinda cool. I sorta wish the foreground was in focus here too, though. Very creative, though. I love the natural feel of this.

Great way to focus. Thats been my thing lately focus on the main subject and blur everything else out.

I like this shot. The lines of the bamboo pull your eye back further into the photo for a closer look. Very simplistic, yet interesting to look at. It's aces to me.

replying to your question.

I think the idea is good, for the composition gives an idea of movement, and of contrast of the horizontal and vertical lines.
The power of the image is there, and the color gradient aids that effect.

The focus, however, would perhaps be more impressive if it were at the middle of the vertical bamboo, perhaps on that wire (an extra horizontal line), making all other lines a blur that would give that impression at the same time.

Would be nice if you could try that one again, and see how you would get it...

Is that bamboo...or just skinny wood?
Either way, it reminds me of Japan.
Or a raft.
I like it

I like it, though I couldn't tell you why if I tried... I think it's just because of its simplicity, but more along the lines of "I have no idea what that's a picture of."
