Description Well, here it is at long last. DAMN THIS WAS ALOT OF @#$%n' WORK!!! AGH!!! I almost went insane!

But it was worth it in the long run, I think. I learned ALOT from this picture.

I did this picture the right way. I did a rough sketch on a piece of scrap paper, then used my lightbox and traced it onto a piece of Bristol board (which has come to be one of my most used papers as of late). At first, I was working on another piece of Bristol, which I was painting on with markers really cheesy flowers... it was ugly, it was horrible... I started again. This time I said to myself "I'm gunna actually draw flowers this time". But the thing is, I really CAN'T. Sure I've tried, but it's so hard! I pushed myself though. I got out every manga and anime book I had and found rose after rose (Sailor Moon Artbook #5, Revolutionary Girl Utena, City Hunter, Yu-Gi-Oh, the list goes on!). Of course, I favored the roses most from Sailor Moon, so I think I was influenced most by them.

Although before I was screaming at myself "What the hell are these flowers?!" , now I think they're okay... for a first try. And Kitty looks spendid in my opinion. I tried to make her skin appear very light... although I'm wondering if she looks a bit strange. This isn't my usual coloring technique. I also gave her the new bangs style, which came out kinda odd since her head is at a tilt. I colored them in the correct way for once, which also happens to be easier to do.

Oh ho ho, and the background. At first it was just a yucky light yellow that I did with watercolor pencils and water. But I hated it because it was so plain, so I took a tissue and a doile and patted orange ink to make patterns and shades all over the background. I'm so smart! *lol* I added my favorite gold spots too.

Useing white was an ordeal however... My ink has gone bad. I wanted to use a toothpick to do the white, but instead I used a spegettie stick *rotfl*. I did the dots and went to work on the eyes... but oh horror, the ink went all over the eye. I tried to fix it with blue ink, but the ink dissolved the white and the pupil was covered in a white and blue bubbly substance. I was able to suck it off with a tissue and treat it over with blue again, whiteing the spots that couldn't be fixed. Phew... dammit. How am I ever gunna make the perfer shojo eye?

Kitty looks very much like Melina though... If she had elf ears, it WOULD be Melina... eek! But her crown and dress are different. Just what is Kitty supposed to be? Well, I dressed her like a Princess, even though she isn't one, I wanted to see what she'd look like. I also want to draw the full length of this dress soon. Oh, and that symbol she's wearing on her chest? That's the symbol of yellow (in the story), just so you know.

This picture is in dedication to all my friends at DA and Sailor Orions Refuge. I thought of all of you from the very start of this picture and through the very end. I want you all to keep on trying your best at everything you do. Even when things seem impossible, when no matter what you do nothing seems to work, keep on trying. Find a way around the roadblocks, smash through the problems. For those of you who want to draw but say you can't, please keep trying. For others who think thier drawings are crap, keep trying. I can't give you a reason why, you have to find the reason for yourself. But you're not gunna find it if you don't try to.

Until then, I hope to see more from all of you. Keep it up!

This is a really gorgeous piece I'm glad you spent so long on it! Those flowers must have taken forever (yea I did a traditional piece with tonnes of flowers in it, too. I feel your pain ;__; ) I really love the overall high key of this piece. The colours and tones and textures are all so great! I love how you drew her shirt and her hands! Her face has a very caring and sincere feel. Very lovely work! My favourite part is the flowers, but I also want to note i think the most important part of this piece is her blue eyes, it really stands out from the rest of this piece and draws attention to her face!

*claps* I think it's gorgous. Absolutely stunning. You can't tell that you had problems with the eyes, or anything else really. It looks planned to the t and done by some one with masterful skills. Which I can't say it hasn't (at least to the masterful skills part).

Very SM-ish, and it looks all nice and graceful for it. The colors are great, the pose is nice, and the flowers look like beauty in bloom, and Kitty looks perfectly human, or at least has a normal human appearance.

I want her dress and crown thing.

Only telling the truth. *nodnodnod*

Oh, and on the whole backgroudn thing, it isn't like alot of the SM piccies are done in the exact same way. (More or less...)

I always liked the doile effect... This made me feel so smart (heh heh heh). At first I colored the background with yellow watercolor, but I didn't like it. So I took a paper doile and put it on the paper, then dabbed orange ink on a tissue and dabbed it on the doile like a stencil. And tada! Almost looks like airbrush.

Gwah ha ha, how bootleg.

It's called being creative, and persevering over obsticales! Always a good thing.

And... oO Bootleg?

hmm. *considers for a moment* Excellent spots of detail, the white and black dots. And you're going to hate me for saying this... I know you're going to hate me... feel free, but I guess I like seeing stuff with strong personal style. With this I'd say it's pretty obviously a Sailor Moon styled pic and you did a grand job on it, really, but still. Oh well. At least the flowers aren't drawn the way Naoko Takuchi or whatever her name does them. I like her lips too. Well done. As long as you're looking for the SM look though, you might as well go for the gold and try for some more detail on the hair. The way they do it is... diff.... you know? Like more small lines on the shading....

Yeah, I'm influenced alot by Miss Naoko's style. ^^; But I don't hate you for saying so. When I first got serious about drawing, it was her style that I decided to study (since I love it so much, and it was the only thing I had acess to at the time, but more of the former). Actually, I started on the anime style (which isn't her own, but loosely based on it), then moved more towards the manga. I have figured out my own techniques though, such as how I color things and I'm developeing my own eye style little by little (my lines are also more broader and harder then hers, which are soft and minimal or flowing).

Recently, I've been studying Miwa Ueda's style and I've slightly touched shonen a bit (I can't draw guys for @#$%). Ah well. Thanks!

*grins* Yup really looks like much work.
But honestly I don't like those thick Outlines that much and the way you colored her hair. It does not look that light now... Well I guess it's a question of style ^^'''
But the choice of colors is good... I like this goldish touch of the pic And her skin is no too light if you ask me

Aera >'__'<

P.S. uploaded new version of Nibel... but the scanner of my parents really sucks. On the real pic the colors look much smoother now -.-''' But not on the scan...

Ah, I was just experimenting. Since yellow is such a light color, I wanted to enhance the shine by adding a dark border (I've seen it done on other pics). Ah well, I'm still wavering on style.
