Description Ah yes... my OCs. Like a lot of Mega Man fans who are also artists, I had plenty of ideas swimming around for a fangame pet project, which I worked on from 2019 to mid-2022, focusing solely on story concepts, graphics, and spritework. Its progress name was Mega Man: Dimensions, which sounds even more unoriginal when I say it out loud (cue SAGE 2022 livestream misreading). I put Dimensions on hiatus after joining Team Circadia, and later decided it was best to shelf it completely. The amount of things I've learned working on an actual organized devteam completely warped my perspective and showed how in-over-my-head I was, and I guess that's part of growing up. I definitely plan to revisit these concepts once MMSD releases, but that'll be in who-knows-how-long and most things will probably be overhauled entirely. I'll definitely say working on Dimensions was totally worth it in terms of building up my current graphical skill level, but likewise, it is a hallmark of my older work instead of (graphics aside) anything concrete.

That being said, here is the Robot Master lineup leading up to that point. Cat's outta the bag, I've already shared these around, might as well post 'em here. Yeah... they were very heavily X-inspired. Official RMs like that exist too in MM7, 8, &B, and 11, but perhaps not to this degree of overclocked detail and proportions, and they certainly weren't the reference material I was using. When I redesign them, I'll keep most of the proportions, but it'll be with closer reference to 11 in particular. Think back to Dodder or Tempest. I'll plan to upload the Robot Masters separately so I can go into each one more in-detail, but here's a little summary of their basic info and where my head was at drawing them.

Rime Man (DWN-S1) - Redrawn March 16th, 2021.
Weapon: Rime Aegis
Location: Astronomer's Tower
Being redrawn the most recently, I am the most proud of this design out of the 8. The Chill Man, Frost Walrus, and Volt Kraken inspiration is a bit on-the nose, but I think it still holds up as its own thing. He's also the obligatory "big guy" of the lineup, so his proportions and level of detail happen to be somewhat justified in that regard. I guess I was also pretty explicit about what showing what his weapon archetype would've been.

Plas Man (DWN-S2) - Redrawn c. late April, 2020.
Weapon: Plasma Bolt
Location: Solar Power Plant
By contrast, being one of the oldest drawings shown here, I am not hesitant to redo this one first at some point in the future. It was definitely held back by being an amalgamation of unused MM2/3 boss designs of the same name. I do plan to keep the basic concepts, though, especially the use of an E Tank.

Portal Woman (DWN-S3) - Redrawn October 24, 2020.
Weapon: Portal Warp
Location: Supernatural Laboratory
This one probably went through the most redesigns out of the 8, and while I'm still somewhat proud of it, I might still redo it anyway for spriting reasons. Her current design is inspired by Wakfu's race of Eliatropes, something I wish crossed my mind earlier.

Cyborg Woman (DWN-S4) - Redrawn July 31, 2020.

Ink Woman (DWN-S5) - Redrawn July 1, 2020.

Location: Contaminated Treatment Facility
You know how Rockman & Forte 2's RMs (no relation to the title) mostly seem to be themed around random shitty household objects the devs were probably looking around at for ideas? That's this boss. I love inking, and always thought the tip of a fountain pen looked like some kind of Vastus-styled helmet. Parts of her design take small inspiration from Sacriers and Out of the Inkwell's Koko.

Loop Woman (DWN-S6) - Drawn c. May 5, 2020.
Weapon: Loop Vortex
Location: Scarlet Theatre
The only design without an older iteration, Loop was made as a replacement for Barrage Man (basically just a Napalm/Mars archetype), who in turn was created solely as a weakness for Portal (as Barrage's screen nuke would counter someone who warps all over the place). "Loop" beating "Portal" just fits better. This design is also right behind Plas Man on the slating list for refinement.

Inquiry Man (DWN-S7) - Redrawn c. May 5, 2020.
Weapon: Inquiry Bomb
Location: Endless Maze
It was scanned in the same batch as Loop Woman, if you're wondering about the date. I actually drew this iteration in the middle of the night after going to bed and then suddenly deciding, "Fuckit, I'm drawing him." As more easily seen in older iterations, his body is actually shaped like a question mark, but I heavily streamlined the top to make it look like more like a giant cephalopod-ish head. A lot of people seem to single out this design in particular as good, and on top of some objective rendering issues, I agree that it still holds up.

Fossil Man (DWN-S8) - Redrawn February 16, 2021.
Weapon: Fossil Revenant

The second-most recently redrawn, but one of the first to be conceptualized next to Rime and Inquiry. I'm also proud of this rendition, but I could see myself simplifying it down. In fact, like I said, I can see myself simplifying most of these down; a lot of the added details are purposeless and arbitrary.

I'll try to link individual drawing uploads to each description when the time comes.

Despite me saying that the hiatus is semi-indefinite, I'm still sitting on these designs. I did say I'd revisit them one day, like I did for the infamous MM1-styled Time/Oil. I'll allow fan art, but the designs themselves can't be used in any other fangames or whathaveyou (Or in Plas Man's case, the sum of transformative features added in relation to the Inafune drawings; put your own spin on that). Not that they'd be worth it or easy to sprite anyway. They are posted here solely as an exhibition of my older work. A journey of where I've come from.
