they don't stand out on the paper *curses scanner*
red line...it's actually yellow ink lines.....
i think it stands out to you (it doesn't to me) is because the dark areas around the veins were not done very dark, because if it had been it would have looked like the first one (link in comment *points up*) and that's what i was trying to avoid at all costs! i didn't want another crap one.

anything red/yellow ontop of blue will stand out a lot. its the basic law of color use. If you want something to stand out more, you use hot colors and to make it stand out even more, back it up with cold colors.
