In taking back all of the energy she gave him...she also took a little more of Krueger than she bargained for.Going to a Halloween party tomorrow evening and trading in my pajamas and slippers for the brown fedora, razor-fingered glove, and dirty red and green sweater, all the while still sporting the streak! To the casual passerby I will be costumed as "Female Freddy Krueger"; to myself and close friends I will be costumed as "Nancy pulling off Freddy's attire better than Freddy".

Having just discovered this image, now I am.
Ending plays out ALMOST like Wes Craven's (RIP) original ending, but when Nancy waves bye to her mom in the car, she's wearing the Freddy glove with a wicked smile on her face, and puts on the hat as she turns. Β Cut to her mom absolutely terrified, as the creepy children sing.

That smile is just perfect. What a glare! She REALLY isn't smiling at you because she is happy that you are happy, she is smiling with the insanity of what is going on in her head regarding how she is going to slice you up.

No worries. I have so many memories of Nightmare 3 (I saw that first) and the original (and then all of the others) from High School (we all watched them way too young, well, that's what the adults said).
They are my all time favs. I love the way that Nancy passes her skills/knowledge on to Kristen who then passes her own (and Nancy's) on to Alice (who then kicks ass). It's all about the women.
When I saw your image and I was kind of ignited (no pun intended). I mean, if they had have gone that way instead of Freddy Vs. Jason it would have been incredible.

I do wish the story lines would have taken "The Beautiful Dream" angle further, rather than the comics. It's almost as though she means nothing between Nightmares 4-6. No mention of her verbally, except the gravestone.Thought there should have been more.

Agreed. Although I'm glad they didn't show her as one of the tortured souls inside the Fredster. That would have been too much.
Earlier I watched the scene where she tells Glenn to watch over her as she dreams and he totally f***s it up.
It is so funny when she goes, "Glenn... You shit."
It was so funny when I was young (and still is) - Probably because it relieves the tension so well

lol! Nice hat. I love Nancy's lines. They come off so naturally, almost like anyone her age would say them. Unlike so many movie teens today, she actually acts and looks age. They all do. It's one of the reasons I love watching the movies.

Personally, I like 1, 3, 4 and 5. These are the films I "recognize" as the "story" (as well as the pre-burning stuff). But I've always felt that after 5 it becomes a parody of itself ALA Craven (same as Scream). In my Freddy "world" I'm happy with these. 2 is not good, but not dire. 6 is fairly dreadful and doesn't keep me watching. New Nightmare is a film about a film and so is a different beast.
We all need something to take way too seriously!
