Description EDIT: We know the tips are wrong. Will not affect the purchase as it will be corrected on the actual product, just the deviation will remain up here and a large updated one will be added later with the corrections to all of them. We ask that you not point this out and only focus on the rest of the sword.

"A white zanpakuto?"

Rukia's Sode No Shirayuki (Sleeves of White Snow) : Finished (manga version)

Now, I mark this manga version, because the bead on the end is slightly different than in the anime, just so we are clear from the start.

Fullview for details.

This sword gave me heck!

It was like nothing was going to go right on it! Between this sword and Shinso, I would almost swear these two were cursed or something. That is almost.

First, redrew the pattern four or five times? Trust me, that was more complicated than it should have been, as it was little details that I had missed that really made it look different and therefore had to be done over again and again.

Second, since there are limited pictures, it was hard to judge how long the handle should have been and how we should go about making it. Next time I make it, the handle will be longer for two hands to grip it on the ribbon.

Though, most shots that we have of her in the manga at first, it is mostly being held one handed. So, this sword you can hold it one handed as well.

Third, the handle once again. Had some problems making the middle groove. First pass wasn't deep enough or straight enough, second pass was too deep and still not straight enough or neat enough. So, we filled it in, sanded it smooth, and then put an overlay, divinding the center for the groove.

Then there were minor things like attaching the ribbon with jewelry parts and trying to shape the blade.

This is only our first one and it was more a learning experience, as to how to make the next one, so some parts of this may not be exactly right.

But we feel it is closer to right than some of the live steel ones, as they have this weird, chappy bunny looking charm on them and the tsuba is too round, both of which are clearly not shown in the manga.

But I am rather happy with how this one turned out, considering I wasn't even sure that I was going to be able to finish it. Got rather discouraged about halfway through?

Now onto the details.

Approx. Measurements:

Blade: 30"
Handle: 10.5"
Ribbon: 125"
Chain: 7"
Overall Sword: 40"

The ribbon and bead are able to be taken off for either carrying or packing/storing. They are attached with simple jewelry items, recycled from a necklace and then some spare parts. Also, the chain is a little longer than hers, but this was to help with the weight and ribbon (I can of course always adjust it later if someone insists). And the bead is handmade with a wood base and then clay overlay, so it might have slight inperfections.

I made it so that just the chain and bead can be left on if the ribbon needs to come off for some reason. Or the whole attachment can be taken off.

I did this because I know I wouldn't want to carry it around all day myself and it might be hard to pack for travel, etc. The ribbon is silk and moves rather well.

I am aware that some parts of the handle in the upclose shots may not be as even as hers, but that is because of sanding (trust me we tried without trying to ruin it or make it lose shape - which had already happened) so it may have some minor defects.

I'll remind you that these are crafted from wood and wood is not perfect and does not always behave as it should, so they may not be exactly perfect, also not all details were able to be created on this one.

Also, these are just props for cosplaying.

Now, it is posted here on cosplay.com for sale. I'm going to have to charge a bit more on this one than on my others, because of all the trouble that goes into making it.

So, it will be $55 + $15 for shipping. I do take Paypal and can exchange information if you want it. I also take money orders as well. I keep, information posted in my journal as well, so be sure to check there.

If you still do not find what you are looking for, then please, feel free to message me.

Also note, that if you find that this particular sword was already sold but you want one of your own, then feel free to message me about a commission on it.

So, that's about all. Glad this one is done.

Please, positive comments, and if you feel that you must critique me, then do it positively. Also, if you think of something that I've not already pointed out, etc. then please be positive about it and it helps more if you provide a reference of some type.

That's it. Enjoy.

Pretty good, I would suggest you do the end cap out of cardboard so it won't be so thick.

I am thinking of re-doing this one. I want to do it with the full curve.

Thank you, I will keep in mind the cardboard trick next time!

I would recommend another attempt, with or without the full curve, as I think this was one of my favorite ones to make after it was all said and done.

Nicely done for me the biggest frustration in sword making is that they keep changing the design. Mine's based on the series, but I need to remake my shaping form to get a better curve.

Thank you ^_^ Yes, they do seem to keep doing that. As I went back through the shots of the anime I had and realized parts of it were completely different from the manga that I had memorized. I have to go back and remake the tip, they're all picturing going the wrong direction now >.<

Yes, that is true. That's why I ended up just going back to the manga to make it.

That's what you have to do just choose a look and stick with it. The Sode [link] is the Anime version and the Tenza [link] is the manga.

Thanks. Did you see the other shots of them? I haven't learned how to do a proper montage yet.

No problem. I just went through all of them and that is really creative making them come apart like that ^_^ Don't worry, I still haven't made a very good one yet haha.
