They're not actually brothers (one is from mainland Alaska, the other from the Arctic Circle), but they are nearly exactly the same size, and look very similar in color.

Both fit me perfectly, but I'm not sure which I'll use as my personal headdress yet. I'm soaking the face of the orange-ish one right now, and will mount it later tonight. When it dries, I'll remove it from the form and do the next one.

One will be used for Burning Man, the other will be listed for sale on Etsy.

I've recently been asked to be co-runner of a theme camp for this year's Burn. The camp will have a tribal jungle theme to it with numerous massive totem poles depicting animals which represent Fertility. Toward the end of the week, we'll have a massive bonfire and I'll host a 'transformation' dance, in which participants can be painted and wear masks and headdresses, and simply let loose.

I'll be making a bear headdress for my boyfriend, which I can give to him when he gets back from training 6 months from now. I'll probably have to teach him to dance in a headdress (it's harder than it seems!), and he'll have to get over the whole "I feel ridiculous" factor. But he's good at embracing Bear, so I have little worry about it being too awkward for him. The beauty in headdresses is that animals, unlike humans, have little concern for social rights and wrongs, so it's easier to be yourself.

NOTE: I did not kill these wolves, nor were they purchased from anyone who did. If you don't like it, don't look.
