Description This energetic illustration represents wild animal's defensive system in nervous system - "releasing" that excessive negative energy. Wild animals know the secret of healing from traumatic experiences.

Animals in the wild utilize natural mechanisms to regulate and discharge the high levels of energy accumulated associated with defensive survival behaviors. These mechanisms provide animals with a built-in ”immunity” to long lasting trauma (PSTD) that enables them to return to normal lifestyle in the aftermath of highly ”charged” life-threatening experiences.

Humans are born with the same regulatory mechanisms as animals, however the function of these instinctive systems is often overridden or inhibited by, among other things, the ”rational” portion of our brains. This restraint prevents the complete discharge of survival energies, and does not allow the nervous system to regain its balance. The un-discharged “survival energy” remains “stuck” in the body and the nervous system. The various symptoms of trauma result from the body’s attempt to ”manage” and contain this unused energy.

Traumatic symptoms are not caused by the dangerous event itself. They arise when residual energy from the event is not discharged from the body. This energy remains trapped in the nervous system where it can cause great damage on our bodies and minds.

Wild animals have the ability to “shake off” this excessive energy. The key for humans in dispelling traumatic symptoms lies in our being able to mirror wild animals in this way.

Wow, thats sounds like really insightful method and technique dealing with accumulated symptoms

Might explain why so many professionals advise people to exercise?

Lookin' cool btw. Definitely get the sense of the stress from the animal here just by how your laid out the colours.

Wow Dr. Levine, People could use a good healing technique, maybe a sleep technique for those who have trouble sleeping through the night.

It looks more like an oryx, to me-- although I'm not sure whether it's an Arabian, gemsbok, beisa, or scimitar-horned oryx.
