I’ve always been intrigued by the item in Appendix B of Return of the King about Sam, Rosie, and Elanor going to Gondor in S.R. 1442. I expect Elanor would take up some duties as handmaiden to the Queen. And it seems to fit that Elanor (to whom Sam, out of all his children, gives the Red Book when he goes to the Grey Havens) would have inherited her father’s love of poetry and lore. I love the idea of Arwen supporting Elanor’s poetic ambitions and helping her learn Sindarin and Quenya to study and make translations of Elvish works.

(To the best of my knowledge, there are no dates of birth given for Arwen’s daughters, so it seems safe to say she might have been pregnant in 1442.)
