GOD HAD A VISION AND THAT VISION IS ME

this is a....redraw?? idk if that's exactly the right word to use here haha. back in 2018, i did a very quick scribble of a girl in a frilly dress w a halo for a head, captioned it angelface, and posted it to my artblog on tumblr, and I guess people really liked it because it blew up in a way none of my drawings ever have on any platform!! the original angelface post has like 4k notes and counting, and that absolutely blows me away bc none of my other drawings have even reached that level of attention ;w;! it's v flattering and v humbling.
there's ups and downs of having a post blow up like that, one of them being that people have essentially felt entitled to lay claim to a design that i've made w no real awareness of my feelings abt it. obviously angelface isn't the most original or groundbreaking design, but it's still a p frustrating feeling to have people essentially view your art as public property and assume that you'll have no strong feelings abt it being laid claim to by strangers. mixed bag of experiences!
i recently felt compelled to revisit angelface's design and concept and redraw her again, partially to see how much i've improved since 2018, partially to begin refining her into a proper character. it's been almost 3 years but i still love her design a lot, and hopefully everyone else still does too ^ ^
