just thought I'd make sure, since they've copied without permission before and even copied from someone who had said they didn't want anyone copying their artwork (and took down their gallery because of people using their art without permission even) and I'm not really sure they really got what I was trying to tell them regarding art etiquette and art theft as they apparently think "someone asked me to copy it for them" makes it okay to disregard the original artist's wishes...

personally I dont mind people using my art as reference or to study off from without giving me credit.
especially when it comes to my fan art as I have no rights to the character in the first place.
i do believe in the etiquette that you speak of but also understand that it needs to be learnt.Β
Young budding artists will fall short in this regard at some point. so don't be too hard on them.
If they do decide to go pro they will learn it in due time. And they will come to respect other artists works because they would want that same respect.
I will however make a fuss if it were an experienced, working professional making money off my work.
But raising awareness is always good. so thanks again for having my back
