Description
This is Cocoa, my African Big-eyed Tree frog. There are two naturally occuring color morphs of this frog. One is all green and the other is mostly brown. Cocoa is the brown morph. You can see where they got their name from..he reallly does have HUGE eyes!
My brother girlfriend affectionately calls him "Little Alien".

That is a very cool frog. Did you have it when it was in the green phase? I'd be interested to see pics of that. It looks quite a bit different from the Big Eyed Tree Frogs I have. Mine are Leptopelis vermiculatus, but there are a ton of very similar Leptopelis species.

I got him as an adult and the place I got him from had no idea what he was b/c he came in with a batch of American Green Tree frogs. I did, they knew that, but I got him for $5 once I told them what he was b/c it's one of the pet stores I frequent.
I believe with his species they are either brown or green. They don't change with age or anything like that. The color they are born is the color they stay. I am looking for a green one though...maybe a girlfriend for him.

Yeah that is kind of why he was nick named "little alien". He has those bigs eyes like them..so they can be both cute in a creepy kind of way. LOL
