Seems you just exploded into popularity! I'm a bit jealous - but according to you I shouldn't be TOO jealous! It appears that having legions of adoring fans is hard work!

Well, it didn't quite happen overnight. It was a steady but rather fast rise. I'm not sure about 'adoring fans', but they're certainly very kind in showing interest.
Consider this: I have never yet left a comment unanswered, as I can't bear to think of how ungracious that may seem. And it takes time to answer everyone. I also watch over 200 people at the moment, and it also takes a long time to see the deviations, leave my own comments where I can, and read all the journals. They don't all have new things or update their journals all at once, obviously, but there's still a good number each day, and if I leave them for a few days - they can go up to over a hundred easily. All of it takes a lot of time, and the scary thing is that I seem to spend more and more time simply catching up, and losing the time to do other things like work for instance (!), and eat and sleep! This is why the very popular artists don't always answer anything at all. I used to go thanking everyone for the favourites and that in itself is terribly time consuming. Now, I've had to admit defeat on that front, but I am still answering every actual comment. Of course, if one can simply ignore everything whilst enjoying the benefits, there isn't a prolem with being ' popular' (a word I'm not sure I like), but I can't. Not yet. I'm concerned by the thought that one day it may eventually be too much, and I will be obliged to practice that brand of apparent coldness which I do not like to see exhibited by myself...
