Description A quick render after kitbashing 2 different armor sets, namely the Wind Warrior by Linday Mousso, and The Legend by Aeon Soul. i had to re-color the legend armors upper armor, pants, and sleeves to match existing armor and materials.

not that i don't like fantasy armor, but after a while, it gets kinda ridiculous...and i'm just past that. she will be added to an upcoming scene soon!

so, give me your thoughts, comments and critiques!

thanks for looking!

She looks cool, though I have to admit that I like the fantasy armor trope: after all it's fantasy so why does it need to conform to reality. Like the main villain in "Your Highness" says "Magic, Mother-fucker."

She looks kind of like a more lively version of the banshee-undead-elf character from WoW. I don't know her name off-hand because I don't play WoW but I do like the artwork for the game. I like to tell people who complain that the armor doesn't look "realistic" that it shouldn't: it's FANTASY. Fantasy armor can be nearly anything. When you take magic into account the armor is just a place-holder for the protection spells.

ok, that's stuff i didn't know. as yo ucan see from my past images, i don't really wander into the realm of fantasy...well, not art wise. so all this is new to me. (please see above)

that being said, i really want to learn about who she is and her backstory and see if i can't make something that would be a good fit for her. i've watched the cimematic and loved it! but i know i have some more to learn.Β

anything you want to share, you can here or send vie im.

thanks!!

Too much armor for an archer. They will be fast and moveable

me too! i'm thinking she might look better with a sword...or dagger...or almost anything else....looking for a better bow, that's for sure!

Just a little side note: The end of the arrow is supposed to be in between those fingers holding the string.

yeah, i noticed that! but, this is just a pose that came with the armor. i'll tweak it when i do the final pose...

Isn't that Sylvanas's cgi model just altered...?

pjacubinas In reply to Feelingbluboy [2019-07-09 08:11:40 +0000 UTC]

Yes. Just as it's stated in the description. It's been alterted with Aeon Souls' The Legend armor, which was re painted and settings adjusted to match the other metal... You know, like it says in the description....

Oh, that description wasn't clear to me, either. Doesn't mention Sylvanas and I'm unfamiliar with the source material. Thanks for explaining!

hey there Feelingbluboy and catnamednorris ...i owe you both a very sincere apology.

see, i don't play video games. any video games. i never have. i watch my youngest daughter play animal crossing, new leaf. and i like that one...i only kinda know about world of war craft. i didn't know who sylvanas was. still don't, not really. that's on me. i thought that i was just listing the name of the model i used for this image. i had no idea that there was such a long history, amazing story and steadfast fandom out there. i just thought it looked really cool...

today a new friend of mine told me who she was. and i sat there like the big dummy i acted like.

however, that's no excuse for my attitude. you are right, andΒ  i was ignorant. please forgive me for being rude, and condescending. you don't deserve to be treated that way, especially form someone who doesn't even know the subject matter.

The mix has worked really well!

I agree with you about fantasy armour - this combo doesn't look remotely 'tactical'

Tactical... Huh... How what would you do to make it look tactical?

Just to be clear I was commenting on the armour, not your superb render

I think this type of armour is heavily stylised and I could imagine it being worn for formal occasions rather than battles. Or to demonstrate the massive strength of the wearer.

But for combat the bow looks way too heavy. If an enemy is close enough to be deterred by the spikes then you wouldn't be fighting with arrows.Β  The main armour is more reasonable but compared with real medieval armour again looks somewhat impractical. There seem to be lots of places where an enemy sword could penetrate.Β

Take all this with a pinch of salt; I have zero expertise in this area.Β

dude...everyone is capable of having great ideas and insight. i have zero expertise here too. i am way way out of my element...

it's a good point. i wonder if there's a way to maybe turn some of those layers off...? i don't know, but i'll check when i get home....

thank you!
