I see a new version of Altair picture. It has to be very difficult to redraw this picture one more time, but you've made a wonderful art. The sunset and the whole sky looks marvelous but, being honest with you, I prefer the old Altair look - her wings looked much realistic before; of course I understand that in your imagination they looks different and I'm sure that one day you will shock us showing how Altair "really" looks like. Altair is great character; we all would like to know her better. No matter what, you've made a beautiful art-work. Be proud of yourself and keep going, my dear!

I think the lighting and colors are better on this, adding more yellows had a good effect-

Incredible art-work... Is Altair an Angel or she only looks-like it?
P.S. Do you know that in astrology the star Altair is ill-omened, portending danger from dragons? Weird, doesn't it?

Thank you so much for your answer. It's very interesting. Altair looks like some extraterestial humanoid alien creature which ancient humans could see when they visited Earth thousands years ago and they called them Angels, because they were from sky. It can be interesting explanation of Altair's origin. What you think? Her "magic" could be a wired technology or something like that.
But even if Altair would be a casual reall-magic character, she would be awsome. She looks wonderfull; so mighty and noble.

haha, that's a nice explaination! It reminds me of the book Ilium by Dan Simmons, where Greek gods are some sort of super intelligent race with very fancy technology. Their tech is so advanced that humans see them as gods. I am still reading that book, so I have not figured out yet what they exactly are... but I am afraid that Altair is just a casual magician, and she is not even extremely skilled either. She lives in a world were the use of magic has become rare and people became afraid of it, so lots of the knowledge is lost. She has great potential, but can't exploit that properly because she only knows the basics.

I know Ilium - it's very original story. I like this kind of fantastic concept. But even if Altair is just classic magical creature, she's still nice and interesting. In Tolkien's world even 100% magical beings were interesting. only you can make her good or bad character - you will decide using yours imagination. I believe that you have a beautiful mind and Altair will be an awesome creature.

I know two - polish short stories: "Ruch generała" (The Iron General) and "Baśń" (The Fable) by Jacek Dukaj. Really incredible stories which took place in a worlds where magic is used like technology.
In the first-one people are using strange machines with living diamonds, some kind of magical minerals, to power theirs vehicles, like flying chariots, possessed by gins, who can guide them and fly where someones ordered to him; in "Iron general" people can make also star-ships surrounded by powerful spell which can move all construction, which doesn't look like our star-ships but more like casual ships, to other planets, which also can be created by very powerful spell. Different tribes and kingdoms are making a war to conquer theirs lands and magical forces which are - in some meaning - dredging from some "places of might", but just in the middle of great magical war - which people watch on a live broadcast from battlefields, shown on sky, using a vision-spell, created by magical companies, just like TV programs ( they have even magical commercials) - famous General, is going to conquer a different planet which has appeared from nothing.
In "The Fable" scientists from our world have found under the surface of Pacific Ocean a portal to parallel world, very similar to Earth, called The Fable, where magic is real and works just like science. People, elves and dwarfs are living there like us; they build Zeppelins, cars with magical engines, firearms. Group of rangers from USA with dwarf from Fable ( who was living on our Earth and works as famous businessman, earning money on gold mines in Africa and... making a love-spells) are going there to find a "lumps of pain" - very powerful artifacts from Flying City, which can make a constant bridge between worlds. On Fable ghosts are living with people just like they were still alive. In this world something has impacted into planet Fable and now on the one side of Fable is endless day, and on the other side is endless night - this darkness cover a real secret of Fable, guarded by unknown forces and strange deadly creatures.
I have heard that "The Iron General" has been translated to English and somewhere in Net you can find it, but "The Fable" hasn't been even finished by author so you can find only a few parts of this text and only in polish.

nice, those stories are a really nice combination of sci-fi and fantasy. I hope I come across the Iron General one day, but I couldn't find it after searching for it on the internet -_- nice books can be hard to find sometimes...

And here you can read a few chapters of "Iron General" in English - archive.is/8dPrD
Here you can also find some informations about other stories of jacek Dukaj: maybe you will like some of them? Each year new Dukaj's books are translated to english so...
