I think I've managed to accomplish more in the last couple of weeks than I have in the last six months! There's something to be said for working smaller. This picture, at 11x14 inches, is about a quarter of the size of the stuff I've been doing through the earlier three-quarters of the year.This is the latest in the Dance of Balance series. I wanted to use the yin-yang motif, but I didn't want to use the typical black and white duality. Instead, I thought I'd use sapphire and gold.
I colored the dragons with Prismacolor Premier pencils. The background is scrapbook paper over an acrylic/ink base board. The dragons are surrounded by pearl and shell beads and a few blue rhinestones.

I'm sure you've been asked this many times before, but how do you scan that stuff in with all the stones on it? Or do you just use a camera instead?

I use a scanner that is able to make sense of 3D objects on a flat drawing. It's a Canon "Canoscan" 9000F Mark II.

The Auryn's design creeps into a lot of my wyrm designs, I think... I saw Neverending Story ages and ages ago, and those images tend to stick around in the subconscious forever.
