Finally done, I don't know why but it took me a while to finish this. The biggest challenge was making the dragon/hydra monster but I think it turned out ok

Wow. The thing I am really most impressed with is how you can take so many different stock images and turn them into something completely your own. They all look so different in this final version, I can hardly tell they are related (like the ship for example!). This must have taken a maddening amount of time to seam together, but I think your result is well worth it. Some things to draw attention to..the part that suffers the most in this work is your composition. You are trying to create an image where the captain is making his final stand to this overwhelming sea monster and storm. The sea monster should look overwhelming, but you've placed him right in the center of the page with a huge border of space surrounding him. Not only does this leave a lot of static negative space, but it also takes away from your sea monster's intensity. If you had zoomed in or made your sea monster big enough to be cropped by the page, then you would have a dramatic image. Changing the angle also could have helped (not that you have to do this, but I am imagining a worm's eye view setup from near the captain's point looking up at the sea monster). These straight on angles don't help intense images such as this. The area where the sea monster is bursting out of the water looks flat as well. Maybe widening that splash would help? I feel like a creature as big as that one would disrupt the water a bit more. This guy is quite dainty! Otherwise, I think you've done a terrific job setting up a mood and remixing a familiar theme. Keep up the good work!
