Very true! The best advice I could give anyone about watercolors is avoid trying to control them too much. Their beauty really comes out when you let its chance nature take over! (well, unless you wanna do super realistic, less gestural watercolor pieces )

wow, thats a great way to think about it... who would want to control them anyway? they sorta have a mind of their own and thats something I would hate to stop. what always gets me is sometimes I add too much or too little water... But I'll get it sooner or later I bet.

Haha, I always tend to use too much water. You can always dab excess water off with a paper towel, but you can't really fix a piece that looks all scrubby due to using too little water. At least, that's how I look at it!
