Summer 2010
4x18 Watercolors
17 of 18 from my Balloons, Hot Air Balloons, and Chinese Lanterns series.

This one is sorta the black sheep in terms of subject matter, since there's no speck of nature in sight! But I really like it nonetheless

Yay more watercolor pieces!

I think this is my favorite of your newest ones It gives off such a warm mood, which goes perfectly since its still morning over here I also really love the elegant design in the backround behind the lanterns, it really gives the piece that extra asian charm to the lanterns I'm wondering how you were able to create the design without making a mistake, looks pretty hard to draw in without doing it over

On a side note, your commission is very close to being done Man, you weren't kidding when you said Mighty was really hard to draw, I had to do an entire page of practice sketches before I could finally start drawing the one I would use in the picture

Haha, it was hard, lemme tell ya! I had to rush like mad to paint all those tiny separated areas the same tone before they dried. Out of all of them I think this one was the most difficult, technically speaking. I was so terrified as I was painting it

Le gasp! All you guys are so amazingly speedy, I always feel like a snail amongst you. Can't wait to see it!
And an entire page of Mighty sketches by sapphi? Will I per chance see that too~?

Wow, sounds pretty stressful Its the complete opposite when I paint, since I use oils, it takes weeks for it to dry off if you dont have the quick dry stuff, so I usually have to wait when applying multiple layters of paint, since if the paint is still wet, it'll smear and mix

Aw, of course you can see it, I dont see why not I'll be sure to post it on my sketch account when I finish the commission , though I'll warn you, they're pretty bad

Cool!

Ugh, oil paint perplexes and frustrates me beyond all belief! Kudos to anyone who can use it. Watercolor is the only type of paint I've ever been able to do, despite how fast it requires you to work sometimes. It just clicks with me~
