Good Evening from: , I am simply here to offer you a constructive comment!
So, for first impressions, I'm going to go ahead and say that I love this piece! Everything looks very well done, but I have to say that I think my favorite part is her hair; I love the detail put into it, especially in the braids. The eyes are my second favorite part of the piece, they are just lovely and emphasize a lot of emotion, great job on those as well!
I have to say, you have quite a talent for the facial structure, there is not too much to correct here in my opinion. The only thing I can suggest goes in accordance with Enclave-of -the- Night's comment, and that is just to work on your values a bit more; I think that would make the piece look even lovelier and it would help to bring out some more of those gorgeous details!
I honestly can't say enough about this piece, I think you did an amazing job as already stated above. Please keep up the great work in all that you do, and I hope to see more of your pieces in the future! Until then, have a great week!

Hi there, I'm from ProjectComment Β

What I instantly notice about this artwork is the level of detail. Hair, jewellery and facial features are well rendered with lots of care. Overall, you did a great job at this. However, I'd like to point out some issues and make some suggestions so that you could improve.

Please take a look at the right side of the image carefully. I think her forehead is bit out of shape near hairline. Also, perspective of the head seems bit off to me especially, when the right side of the artwork is considered but this is a subtle issue. My next concern is the overall contrast of the artwork. Given the dark hair color, I think you should not be afraid to push the values more to attain a better contrast as it makes your artwork more attractive imo. Since its a traditional drawing, I know it is hard for you to fix it but you can try laying down the darkest dark of the scene first, and consider the paper color as the lightest light. By doing so, you are in control of the values of the artwork and you can easily figure out the suitable midtones. I'd suggest you a book called "Pencil drawing techniques by David Lewis" and it helped me a lot in many ways, especially at getting the values right.Β

I've improved the contrast using Photoshop (using dodge/burn/contrast) to so that you can compare your image with it and decide which one looks better.

Hope this helps. Keep up the good work now

Highly professional quality! splendid job, the cheek bones are very defined, usually something many artist miss, you did very well on keeping body structure in mind, so I can't really critique this properly, lol but more of just telling you, you did a wonderful job

Well done. I especially love the braids in her hair, you feel as if you could reach out and touch them. I like the intelligence and depth in her gaze. She seems like a woman with some profound thoughts or life history that you would want to talk to on a train. I think if you corrected the lid line near the inner eye of the eye closest to the page edge and softened up her lashes on the same eye a bit--it might soften the piece even more and make it more uniformly symmetrical. Great job.Β

Oh thank you for your wonderful comment!
I am glad of the way you're perceiving her. What you said about her really fits her character.

So glad I commented then. When an artist creates an image of an individual that makes the reader feel as if they know the model-that is a great achievement. You have conveyed something deep and meaningful here.

very nice, but the idea that the edge is so near her face scares meΒ  a bit as if I constantly feel like you would run out of space lol
