Description It's been a little over two years, but I've finally done a detailed version of the Orlais map to match my ones of Ferelden

Because there isn't as much Dragon Age media actually set in Orlais, this took a lot more creative license than the Ferelden one. Some places and locations are already established (e.g. Lydes), some places are mentioned but their locations aren't specified (e.g. Val Montaigne) and some places I extrapolated from names (e.g. the Duchy of Freyen, which I extrapolated from the existence of Duke de Freyen).

Orlesian titles are complicated and messy. So there isn't really a hard and fast rule about whether a region is labelled a Duchy, Marquisate, Viscomte or Comte. I did vaguely use the rule that any small region with a town or a city is a Viscomte or Marquisate. The exception to this is Halamshiral, which is specified in-game to be ruled by a Comte. My head-canon is that it's because the majority elven population of the city means its not seen as having the same prestige. Good old Orlesian racism.

(I will own up to one actual mistake: I believe there should be a Duchy of Savrenne on there somewhere but I didn't spot that until it would have meant re-doing a bunch of it to fix. Apologies.)

The borders of Orlais are also flexible / disputed in places (such as along the Fields of Ghislain). I tried to indicate these unclear regions by blurring the colour out and making the border lines more widely spaced. I specified the date of the map as being before the civil war between Celene and Gaspard (as the borders would probably change depending on who won).

I also added some rivers in places it felt like it made sense to have them.

As with the Ferelden map, I tried to use a semi-consistent toponymy for the place names. For example, a lot of the names in the Dales contain Elven suffixes or prefixes (albeit with changed spelling). I used Project Elvhen  extensively for these.

There are a few place names that will probably seem a bit silly to native French speakers. Forgive me; there were a lot of places to label.

As with the Ferelden map, you are more than welcome to use this for your fanfiction or tabletop roleplaying needs. I would love to be told about it (for the warm and fuzzy feeling of my work being used) but you don't need to ask my permission.

Thank you to Patrisha for commissioning this
