Another askblog response , our trip has come to an end here. (what happens beyond this point is up to the imagination.) Quite a fun project, doing a mini-series of images like this is actually fairly simple; there's not a lot of setup between shots, so it's mostly down to rendering and postwork. I did spend a bit of time on the postwork here - trying a few different saliva effects, none of which I really felt good about - but otherwise, a simple project. I think I'll need to experiment with some 3D saliva for this sort of stuff, rather than trying to paint it! Painting works much better when it's just a few strands or drips from a distance, not super-close like this shot.
